I've got an opportunity to purchase a second hand Adventure screen for my 1250GS. I've checked the part number and it appears to be compatible but it is only the screen so can anyone advise if I need to buy any additional fittings, or is it a straight swap? My bike is a 2020 model
Thanks

Easy swap, no extra parts needed

2 screws to get the screen off with the black plastic brackets attached which you can then transfer to the new screen, don’t forget the rubber grommets

Does make a little difference over the standard screen

Just be aware. Wind pressure above 40mph will not allow you to raise an ADV screen, like you can with a standard one. If you try, the likelihood is you will snap the adjustment knob off. Don’t ask me how I know!

I have an adventure screen fitted to my r1250gs. The screen stability is much improved with the addition of Cymarc (other brands are available), screen brackets.

Yes if you like to get on a bit i would fit a support bracket. I have the puig one which i like.

I can with mine, and because the Puig supports don't clamp in position it's no more difficult than with the standard screen.

I have the Puig touring screen and can make adjustments up to around 80kph.

I traded up from an 18 GTL to a 21 GSA TE in May. One of the first things I ditched OEM wise was the screen. Now to be fair I'm 6'5" and need a tall screen, no matter what I did with the OEM Adventure screen the turbulence was epic, to the extent I felt I'd done 10 rounds with mighty Mike Tyson in his prime. Moreover the OEM screen as fitted wobbles and vibrates which, given time I suspect may well cause a breakage. Anyway, after some research I settled on the Puig Touring Screen with fitted Aerofoil and a set of Cymarc Screen Brackets/stabilisers. My much taller Puig screen is now as solid as a rock.

Fitting is relatively easy even for the 6 thumbed inept types such as myself with a bit of patience and the right tools of course. Good luck, ride safe, stay well.

I'm 6'2.5" and just couldn't solve the buffeting completely with Puig Touring + spoiler combination. Up 120 km/h was ok but after that the buffeting started again. After that I tried Givi Touring. It reduced the buffeting a lot but it created airless bubble behind the screen so the air from the sides started to push in to compensate the vacuum. It was with such a force that was pushing my body arround with side forces. The last try before returning to Puig was Wunderlich Marathon. It was almost OK. Then I made spacers for lower bolts so the screen tilted towards me. It was almost perfect but now the screen was too low even on highest position. Then I added MRA spoiler VSA-TYP B that comes with two types of mounts. I used the type that bolts on the top of the screen so I've got desired hight. Now I can lower my screen a bit. So, I reached my goal, no buffeting at all and enough wind to ventilate the helmet. Did a test at 190 km/h the other day and no buffeting at all.
And yes, I use Wunderlich screen brackets since the day I purchased the bike.
