What a night of rain. Off to the highland show today with work-great

Wellies and waterproofs i think.

We were there yesterday - wet & miserable, but a good turnout.

I decided to take the 'Landcruiser' instead of something small with two-wheel drive. It was just as well. On the way back to the car I met a 3-Series BMW up to its axles in the mud.

Out came the towrope and he was pulled out - no bother (and I didn't even need to deploy the diff locks ).

Today will be a bit of a nightmare in the car park I think - big 4X4s only I suggest

This morning I met "Yogi Bear" with his Police Yamaha XJR at the crossroads in Kirkliston where he and two colleagues were manually operating the lights.

We had a bit of a natter about bikes .

Today at 15:15hrs . . Thunder & lightning and the heavens opened. The downpipes couldn't cope and there was water pouring everywhere. My garden has some very large puddles.

The River Almond that passes by the farm was right up this morning so I'm expecting some wet fields around here.

This is about 1 mile from the Highland Show site

Heavy rain is forecast for the remaining two days of the show as well . . But don't let me put you off going .

Monday onwards is to be fine .

And to add to the misery; yesterday was the Summer Solstice, we are now heading towards next winter .

Just like last year really .

Just back from the highland show,I have'nt been for 25 years!

Quite enjoyed it,the lads doing the tree climbing were impressive.10.5 seconds the quickest i saw,which was very good.

I drove the minibus back and got out of the car park just before the thunderstorm struck!! Looked like we got out just in the nick of time...

I remember driving through Cameroon where the potholes on the road could hide a 4wd and the mud was a couple of feet deep - but it had nothing on that field

Evened managed a wee spin on the R80 this mornin.
It's rainin noo jist enough tae watter the plants, save me dae'in it
Have'nt seen weather like this on Skye for 22 years.

Wifey and I ...and dug........ camped at Gairloch last week for a night away...stunning ..sunny..breezy(for the midges), just graaaand sitting in the sun looking at Raasay with a bottle of Highland Park, wifey met other wifey on beach who said it had been like it for weeks, rivers all dry as a chip, 10mm rain in the last month. Soon as we headed east....pishing down!! Ach well!!
