It would serve you well to have some feckin manners!

There are lot's of photos of bikes from the Thundersprint. if you were so bothered about having your plate seen in public, you should have stayed at home! Cloning is not the big issue you make it out to be. Get real.

If you had politely asked me to blank the plate, told me which bike was yours then I might have been more amenable but as you barked at me in capital letters I'm not in a hurry to change any of my photos that were taken in a public place.

Seriously Jab, Jon's got a point your plate is open to public view every time you take it out, if some scrote's going to clone it then it'll happen despite any precaution to take - do you cover it every time you're parked? can you prevent anyone you drive past from taking a note of your number.. ? no, of course not.

Don't sweat the small stuff mate... just not worth the worry!

I'm with Everywherevirtually on this one matie. There's thousands of vehicle registration numbers to be seen on the roads, in the showrooms, in magazines, every day.... and I'm ex plod, ex stolen vehicle squad, and cloning from pictures is not a big issue

Greg Leonard (Jabiru) decided to throw his toys out of the pram and contact an admin. . It's a real shame that some people can't be civil. I didn't post his photo on the site and the photo is on another website posted in an insignificant area with no tags so it would never be found in a search.

By Greg having his tantrum he has provided his name, his job title, where he lives and now his bike and plate If he had just had some manners to start off with and sent me a private PM saying "look mate I've had a bike cloned previously could you by any chance hide the plate that would be much appreciated" I would have been like a pussy cat and would have been more than happy to accommodate.

Some people just don't get it

Digga you're right. His bike wasn't even on this site. I was trying to help a few people out by giving them an idea of how the soft panniers look on my bike so I gave them a link to my photos on flickr which happened to include another 800GS I took a photo of last week at the Thundersprint in Cheshire. That was the offending photo that caused this storm in a tea cup.

Sam Dalton took some photos of my bike which has my name on amongst other identifying features.
