that's a very Little Englander, "it's all about us conspiracy" and completely ignores the 100 million non European visitors (i.e. excluding Brits and other non EU/Schengen Europeans) entering the Schengen zone each year. Brits enter about 60 million times a year if you add up every crossing each person does in a year. Seems an odd way to be spiteful to one nation when it impact hundreds of them.

Sadly, you could just well be summing-up one Michel Barnier. From a year or two back.
I can see no other benefit, reason or logic otherwise.
