FOR ALL EES STUFF, QUESTIONS, CONCERNS, MOANS, JOYS AND ANYTHING ELSE

I have - Santander entry.

Going into Spain the chaps funneling you to the various entry booths were a bit half hearted but most of the bikes ended up at the final two where we stopped and got off to do the entry. Didn’t take long.
On the way back out there was one guy pointing to the booth to go to. All fine apart from their computer system was evidently down and the guys on duty eventually gave up and said off you go after a couple of swipes through their passport readers and a bit of grimacing

Arrived in Santander yesterday. One of the last off the boat (deck 2 ☹️) long queues ahead. As baggie said all the bikes sent into furthest two booths. Helmet off + fingerprint and good to go. Took about 2 mins each. Only about half the booths open so it could be quicker. Waited longer to get off the boat than we did for the border.

Went in almost a month ago, twat locked their keys in the boot of the car so we were an hour and a half late getting off, only the passport was stamped and no effort at customs / fingerprints checking.

Came back a week ago, different berth to arrival and half a dozen booths seemed to handle the not too may people ok.

Even got fingerprints checked coming back into Tarifa from Tangiers.

Came through santander on monday.
The queues were delt with well and easy.
Passed PP over for stamps.... I / we were checked on a big f-off camera aside nice chap in his booth. Passed the PP back. I asked where me stamps.. chappy says no more stamps for you in EU....
Gu Steady Have a great trip

I'll be on the Hull/Rotterdam ferry shortly. Has anyone had any recent experience of any border delays at the Rotterdam port?

I'm sailing out Sunday 31st May if that's before you I'll report back.

not that I am aware of or have heard of. The Harwich ferry on the opposite side of the waterway works fine but you still need to give your finger prints electronically and photo so yo do need to get out of the car or off your bike

If you would please. I'm out 2nd June. Do you know if they are still holding the bikes back until most of the cars are off? - which really pisses me off.

I came back a couple of weeks ago from Rotterdam into Hull. It was a long queue/ wait between the ticket check to the passport hut……..probably an hour and half. Everyone was having fingerprints and photos either taken or checked. There were 2 lanes/huts open. We arrived there early and glad we did.

Yes they do but I generally try and push in and pretend i don't understand. My usual thing to fall out with the idiots on there as they don't give a shit about your expensive bike and that's a fact.

Well done Doc. It's twats like you that spoil it for everyone else.

Good God, that’s dreadful….
Yeah terrible, quite a few on here seem to be desperate for long delays though. Sorry to disappoint. Probably the same ones that are terrified of their possessions being stolen, bike breaking down, forrin coppers ripping them off, punctures, bikes being stolen etc, etc.
some people should never leave their houses.

I think it’s because we bikers tend to fuck about taking gloves off, removing helmets, getting passports out etc. whereas car passengers just open the window to show their passports. We take longer to get sorted so they let the quicker passengers through first.

As of this evening (Monday 04 May) the EES biometric thing is NOT active at the Chunnel at Folkestone. Nor will it be active tomorrow, Tuesday 05 May.

Q. What does not active mean, mate?

A. It means that it’s not being used, so the normal passport procedures are in place.

Q. When will it be active, mate?

A. I didn’t ask.

I only found this out when I called the Chunnel this evening to change the registration number of my vehicle. The very helpful lady on the phone told me, without me asking.

TBH, motorcycles generally disembark down that helterskelter affair, from the third vehicle deck on those two ships in Rotterdam.
So, the deck crew need to clear the car deck area to allow the m/c’s a clear run to the ramp. Admittedly, a few biker kids do take their time getting booted and gloved up giving the impression everyone has all ferkin day….
