Page 111 of the manual
If the front wheel lifts clear of the ground under severe accelera-
tion, ASC reduces engine torque until the front wheel regains con-
tact with the ground.

Bmw do sell this as an enduro bike,
the promotional videos and literature,
the gs trophy event and off road school,
all for standard off the peg bikes,
So customers not sticking to tarmac or riding rough potholed roads will be a difficult excuse ,
many of us are waiting to see without much concern short term,
there is without doubt a weakness and a potential fix,
Hopefully there will be further action by bmw,

They are not ABS sensors, they are wheel speed sensors, just because they were originally used for controlling ABS doesn't mean they are 'ABS' sensors, sorry for being pedantic but we must be accurate with our statements dear
It catches it - long before the front comes off the tarmac. There is no wheelying, and no slamming.

I've been in to Cotswold and told them that I was thinking to have a proper fix done. Even if I have to pay for it. Mine/and or my wifes life at risk? Maybe or maybe not, but the point is I'm not prepared to accept the possibility if there's a security measure available. I'm sorry, but press fitting is a cut price option to proper engineering. This stinks. Still wouldn't be without my GS though. So long as it gets fixed I'll be happy, so long as I'm happy with the 'fix'!

Its not a bad idea, then if and when there is a full recall , you should be entitled to the money back

What do you think would be a proper fix? Could you sketch it out and post a picture?

They are not ABS sensors, they are wheel speed sensors, just because they were originally used for controlling ABS doesn't mean they are 'ABS' sensors, sorry for being pedantic but we must be accurate with our statements dear
They hall effect sensors and in this applications their primary function is for ABS and known throughout the motor industry as ABS sensors but you can call them wantever you want
One thing for sure the bike does not have anti wheelie of it would not wheelie in the first place

The one I rode did and others have also had the wheel up and then down again maybe yours is low on power or your just not giving it enough ?

+1 im always trying to get the front off the ground. done a few good ones as well but most come crashing down..get it one the power in second and dip the clutch...i wont be doing it anymore

Mine lifted over a crest the other day, don't know if you could call it a wheely and I don't know if the ASC did anything to fix it

But isn't the collar, that the fork tops screw into, just an interference fit to the chrome stanchion?
It looks like it is from the drawing, if it is I can't see what the difference is between this and the current design other than it being a more secure interference fit.
I checked the top of my forks last night and everything looks tight and secure.
The bike is a 2014 GSA with 25,000 miles on the clock. I've not been off road with it, but have hit plenty of big pot holes (when I've not seen them
) over the past three years. In the first week of ownership I hit a large lump of rock
, out of a dry stone wall and about twice the size of a house brick, at about 60 MPH, hit it square on and both wheels went over it. I pulled over expecting the tyres and/or the wheels to be fecked, checked the tyres, spun the wheels looking for them being bent, and tapped all the spokes, they all rang nicely, everything was fine.

How do you think 'anti wheelie' or whatever other terms may be used, normally works?
Probably lean angle sensors. Some systems allow you to set how much lift to allow the fromt wheel, you can't do that with ABS sensors.
