Fork Stanchion recall?

Lol call BMW GB they will tell you it's not safe to ride
And will not put anything in writing because of corporate liability so I would suggest you get them done asap

Two things that maybe happening! The current used bikes cant be sold unless the recall done which means they get priority over you! The other issue which i spoke to the technician about is they are busy with general servicing and warranty bits and bobs and are holding off untill it gets quieter which will keep them ticking over the winter months with all the recalls. Which he said they prefer!!

Yes but official line is that if the bike is checked (say at service time ) and any gap is found you will be advised NOT to use the bike until it is rectified and if you chose to carry on doing so and the forks fail they are not reponsible.

Worth a thought ! Seems the opposite approach to the usual suspects on this site ! Nice to hear

So if BMW advise NOT to use the bike do they provide courtesy bike?

I have just bought a used bike and the recall hasn't been done yet.

I would be asking why its not done then! Im sure my dealer said no bikes to go out unless its been done unless you sign a waiver.

Judging by the beautiful / substantial tooling used to install the collar - A would think a decent amount of thought has gone into this fix... and I would be comfortable with it.

Bring on my new '18 GSA!

Just had mine done at Bahnstormer in Maidenhead. 2017 GSA with 4k on the clock.

Apparently the forks were outside of the recommended tolerances, and so the fork tubes were replaced as well as a set of collars fitted.
