Fork Stanchion recall?

Same as mine. Apparently, the crimps are different. Mine are very neat small round crimps, whereas the later ones seem to be big and oval. Apart from that, I too have had no definitive answer.
The original 'crimps' on the early 2013 bikes are really just small dimples, the later crimps are big ugly feckers
Apparently the new bikes off the line have a continuous crimp all around the stanchion. Pick my bike back up tomorrow and the forks have been done at Vines.
Got my recall letter today, it just says get in touch with my local dealer and arrange a time for them to check it - no panic flight mechanic
Took my week old GS for the 500mile service today, can you sign this so we can do the fork check under warranty please! Thought you had done it before releasing the bike? No, So what have you done? just measured the gap and record it to BMW? No repair? only got 12 sets used them up in the first 2 days, thousands on back order with BMW. Bloody stupid of BMW to release a campaign without the gear being in stock! Says the service manager!

For anyone who calls themselves a biker then a 10 second check of the fork tops before they ride will tell them all they need to know, if you don't have that simple ability and/or are a worrier then don't ride your bike.
I don't call myself a biker, I have a name. If there was no concern this recall would it be happening. For the record my unstoppable machine is not affected by the recall as being a sept 2013 model.
I had an early 2013 model that had to be 'dimpled crimped' at the dealer before I could pick it up - BMW flew technicians over from Germany to do the work because they found that during testing the forks could work lose. I did more than 27,000 miles on that bike before I bought my current 2015 bike with the larger crimps, I have done over 26,000 miles on this bike and a quick check of the forks show that all is well. The problem has only occurred on bikes that have had a hard time, I know how my bike has been treated and a quick check reveals all is OK - I have no worries as so few bikes have been affected and I am old enough, wise enough and been riding bikes long enough to make my own judgement.
Anyone who rides a motorcycle needs to get to know their machine and have a bit of common sense otherwise they should give it up.
If you bike isn't affected then stop whinging and go ride the thing instead of commenting on something you know nothing about.

All parts are waiting (replacement fork tubes & collars) ready for later in the month, when I'll take the bike in.

Couldn't agree more. Some idiots here don't have the wherewithal to make an informed decision but extrapolate things to the extreme.
If you have a 2013 bike, you should be more concerned about that as it is one of the bikes that were prone to violent spontaneous tank slappers if they hit the wrong type of bump at speed - it didn't happen to me but a few people suffered them including a Bike journalist. BMW reluctantly later added a steering damper, you'd better check that yours has one - worry about that.
