Hi all

How do I get the bottom of the forks off the stantions for abit of a clean up and re-paint?

The haymes manual doesn't tell you and I've tried the parts microfiche but it goesn't show the fork internals.

Thanks

Matt

if its like the 1150, you remove the fork bridge and slide it off the bottom

there is no internalls, just the seal, dustcap and ring holding the seal in place, plus the oil, and probably a bush

Thanks for the info but I dont want to remove the bridge just the bottom of the sliders as in the picture. One on each leg.I know there's a drain bolt underneath the bottom of the stantion.Do I just remove that and they slide off ?

Yes I'm thinking that myself.I was going to get them powder coated but think I'll just clean up with a dremel and paint. Thanks

If you are talking about seperating the castings, that ia a "no can do"
The are pressed together permanantly.
