France by train

A picture from our hotel and an early morning Paris street. Only two delayed trains on the whole trip. Both delayed trains were going to London. Other than those two it as plain sailing all the way. Great trip with good weather until the last day in Paris.
Until the next time.

Many thanks for sharing this adventure, it's certainly given us food for thought 👍

Thanks...enjoyed the trip.
I have enjoyed our train adventures through Europe over the last couple of years and hope to do some more ...fancy the sleeper through Italy to Scicily...the whole train goes on the ferry!
Now the bike trips are done, this seems to be our favoured option....not going on a package, and don't want to spend lots of time in airports.

Excellent. Sounds like a great trip!

Did you use a booking app for the trains in advance?

(I love city streets in the early morning, before the world wakes up)

I just used the Trainline app. We did look at various inter rail type tickets but because we’re both over 60 the Trainline app proved to be the cheapest/best/easiest option. Upgrading to 1st class was very cheap using Trainline too. The trains in France were on time, clean and very fast. Carrying two suitcases was not the easiest thing. Perhaps one suitcase and a rucksack would have been easier.
We definitely have had a great trip. The great weather certainly helped with that. We generally tour in the motorhome but just fancied this trip for a change. Our next trip is using the pickup in January.
