The GS12 has a blanked -off connector on the headstock that can be used for another Aux socket or for a GPS to be hardwired in. Has anyone managed to connect to this, what did you do? Did you find a source of connectors to plug-in to the loom or did you have to solder or even cut off the connector on the loom?

I've asked a similar question on the GPS section but should have posted it here as it's GS1200 specific.

I think MC do a loom with a connector like this on but it's quite expensive and I like doing these things myself.

I got the loom from MC when I bought one of their GPS's. IIRC a while back there was a search for the plug and the collective wisdom at the time was to solder the leads into the socket and then fill it up with RTV. Like on this thread with the Zumo: http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=105639&highlight=zumo

Another option is to get the accessory lead, and then attach the GPS leads after removing the BM plug.

There is a power supply that 'should' be used for the BMW Nav gps systems. HOWEVER - talk to Dutchman on here, and he can sort you out a lead that'll connect up most systems.

He sorted me and my 2610 out and have had no issues whatsoever with it.

Money well spent, coz I can continue to use my proper aux sockets for other stuff, like my inflatable dinghy when I go to the beach
