So there are two different timing covers on the 04-12 1200 - what year did they delete the bearing in the cover for the camshaft sprocket ?

Can I ask if you bought a specific stainless bolt set and what grade of stainless it was? I did mine few years back and simple spray painted the bolts as well as the cover in situ. All other bolts like on rear brake and bolts in the area i removed and painted. I then finished off with XCP and it was still looking good even up on our salty roads.So it's now finished, crash bars back on after being powder coated.
I can see some imperfections, but on the whole happy.
For a 17 year old bike it looks great, now I need to get out and ride it

polishing up the down pipes takes ages but is very rewarding and they come up a treat.

Been watching this thread with interest as I have some paint loss from the engine block on my R9T where it meets the front cover as per the attached photo. Once lightly flatted what would you guys suggest I prime it with and which touch up paint to use. Don't want it to turn into a bigger job and want to contain the repair to a small area. Any advice welcome. thanks.
