Fuel problem ???

OK I'm new tosser who's just used his 1st tank full on a 02 plate adventure (standard tank).
Could you help me out ?
When it gets down to TWO bars on the guage It does not register on the guage for about 5 miles. The warning light stays on and no bar till then when all of a sudden the 1st bar will show then another mile or tow and the 2nd will show.
Oh getting about 260 mile from full to the last bar, is that about right ?

The level sensor/float switch may be a bit sticky or something,but that behaviour isn`t too far different from my 1100`s occasionally.

Most of the time,the bars disappear and after a mile or so the low level light comes on.
Sometimes,the low level light comes on with one bar showing.
Sometimes,a bar will appear after the low level light has been on for a few miles.

I think it will depend on how you`re riding,and what type of roads....bearing in mind that it`s a float swtch,on a flat and level motorway,it will react differently from a twisty and hilly road.

I reckon the mileage/range is about right.
