Fuel Pump Controller saga - GOOD NEWS!

Looks like good news, well done Tim, for not letting go of this. If only we were all as determined.

Now, my side stand is not as black as some others. What are you going to do about it?

If they do recall them and replace the offending part, will they let me keep my old one as a spare?

It's done nearly 50,000 miles now. May seem strange, but I think I've got more confidence in it than I would have in any new one they may replace it with.

Or as Pukmeister says, just give me the new one as a spare.

Thanks for your work on this Tim. Big companies like BMW take alot of pushing to do the right thing.

Thanks

Tim ......... Like all the rest "Thanks" for your perseverance.

Regards Bigboy :clap:clap:clap

Good effort Tim........you even got your name in MCN, which makes you more famous than most of the latest big brother contestants!!!

They better at least do a credit note for those that have bought one.

Tim, bravo for doing so much for so many on this issue. :thumb2

Thats really fecked me off now as I think mine has gone as of yesterday:(

For those of us with no access to a copy of MCN, can anyone tell me what the good news is?

Well done Tim, whatever it is!

Excellent news! Although the MCN article referred to the issue from as early as 2004, BMW said;

'Failure of the electronic pump control system can occur on a small percentage of bikes produced in 2007.'

Maybe the recall will only be for 2007 bikes? Hope not!!!

So what actually is BMW doing about this? Or has this yet to be decided?
