Fuel Pump Controller saga - GOOD NEWS!

Received my letter today to replace my "Fuel Pump Module". Love the heading to the letter "Quality Enhancement"! Wonder how long they took to think that up. The bike is reg Aug 07, a 1200GS with 15K miles. Have already booked it in.
I have had no problems with afore mentioned FP module, But have always carried a spare. The bike is used all year round.
Tim, thank you for all your excellent work on our behalf.

Got my letter but I replaced the original as it broke on holiday in Italy this year, I contacted my local dealer to see if I could exchange the part without taking the bike in but they won't.

So will re fit the old knackered one and trailer the bike to the dealer to get it replaced and then will have a spare

Why not fit the good one, ride it to the dealers, swap it over, go inside and complain that your bike won't start, so they'll replace the old knackered one

Glad they didn't forget about you. Well done for all your hard work which obviously had a positive influence on BMW's decision to replace FPCs. Get my original Mar 07 one swapped over tomorrow

Nov '06 model with 12,500 miles. No failures yet but very glad to get the 'Quality Enhancement' letter. Will get booked in for next week. Well done Tim good effort, now your next challenge is........

Recall letter

For anyone who hasn't yet seen one here is mine. Not had a problem with the old FPC yet, going into those nice chaps at Bahnstormer on Monday. They say they will only need it for 1/2 hour. Long enough for a coffee biccy and oggle at the stock then

Keeping old fpc

Just a foot note, when I asked about keeping the old one as a spare (mine is clean and corrosion free) I was told 'absolutley not' as they all have to go back to BMW. Pity the poor sod that has to sift through that many to see which ones are the dodgy ones

Having my FPC replaced at Bahnstormer on Monday also. Must be a run on fpc's at the moment, hopefully the dealers stocked up before the "quality enhancement" letter was sent out!
