Fuel pump thingy failure???

2006 GSA 12
bike starts and runs, fine when riding any quick throttle movement and it seems to starve of fuel.. is this the fpc failing???
please help

i dont think so,fpc is normally a none start situation,search on here for a diy bypass fix to eliminate it,i think its a sticky by wapping.

But you need it to blow first so you can nobble the end off you're shagged FPC

If you're worried, then go buy a new one and fit it at your leisure. Then carry the original one as a spare. Or sell it on.

they do generally seem to either work or not, but i have heard of instances where the failure is more gradual.

couldn't say if the FPC is your problem or not. maybe borrow one to swap?

My '06 had never had any software updates 'til earlier this year. I had the latest ones & noughts added plus a throttle sync done, which largely solved some fuelling issues that sound similar to yours. Worth a go?

Here is a slightly better explanation a few weeks ago i found the fuel tank lid ajar i.e i hadn't clicked it down after filling anyhow didn't think much of it.(this could have been open for awhile and we have had some bad rain as the bike had been left outside for a few weeks. then coming back from a ride the bike didn't want to accelerate i.e quick throttle movement caused the bike to shudder like it was being starved of fuel.so thought it be contaminated with water from being open....:/. today took the bike for a ride to run it out which it duly did then filled with new petrol but to no avail still the problem exists Help !!!

yes but all you need to do is use wires onto the fpc to see if it works.

Are you sure your plugs are good? I run a Techclusion black box with my Remus headers and Akra can and found a bad mid range misfire that was cured completely with 4 new plugs. I had taken the plugs for granted and never suspected some or all of them were on their last legs after 4 years. But hey ho. New plugs made a world of difference for me.

today took the bike for a ride to run it out which it duly did then filled with new petrol but to no avail still the problem exists Help !!!

If you have water in the fuel tank, you probably need to properly drain the tank of all liquid, then refill with fresh fuel and add a water removing additive such a Wynns dryfuel. I doubt just running the engine will get all the water out of the tank, as the fuel will float on the water, leaving it in the bottom of the tank.

Or Fuel pump thingy twas a Fcuked coil so now is all fixed yippee but what a bitch to find/sort out as all the symptoms pointed to fuel

...as Cookie says but in my experience, mine crapped out right after the "Fuel Starving" situation appeared.
Somewhat like within an hour or two of operation.
It finally ceased to "live" as I was riding down the road...*poof* "That's all she wrote!
While on the phone with BMW Roadside,the bike managed to fire and I got to a more civilized area but never started again. (I did post my story back in the spring of '09).
