Fuel type question

In a word, No.

I put 32 litres of diesel in :blast

Got most of it out.... it made more smoke than a Dreadnought of the Grand Fleet for the next 100 litres of regular motion lotion, but no harm was done.....

Given the choice, I would have headed for just about any grade of petrol, over diesel.

I did that on a R850 when I was a courier... looked better than a Ministry of Sound smoke machine....

:eek::eek::eek:

I lose 20 miles per tankful on a 2006 model GS using Tesco fuel. The Ford doesn't care, gobbling huge amounts of what it's given, but the GS doesn't like Tesco any more than me. Other supermarket fuels seem OK.

Off to central London tomorrow, its running on fumes, will treat it to a tank of BP Ultimate :)

I have the 2010 one, so I guess 98RON for me then :eek:

It shouldn't matter that I put 95 in though for my first full tank should it?

If running in, there is no point what so ever in putting 98 in.

When you want max HP yes, you do notice the difference in the levels of octane, better mpg-power etc, but it comes at a price, it's all down to you if you want to spend more on 98 fuel!

I tried a few tankfulls on my 08 GSA, personally not worth it, I just ripped the right hand more with 95 fuel instead. After all, it's not a sports bike, but we all like a blast every now and then.

Anyway hope you are enjoying the new bike, pick mine up tomorrow! :ronno

Here in the Irish Republic 98 is almost impossiable to get. It has'nt made any differnce to my 09 gsa in 15000 miles JJH

Never mind 98 ron in irish rep. What about 95 ron? There is no mention of it for the past few years. The pumps here quote a BS or Irish standard instead.:augie

it's all 95 ron at our pumps er:toungincheek

but as the bike's new I wondered if filling the first full tank with 95 will make and difference as far as running in etc?
The engine will be ruined, even by a few miles on 95RON. Best get rid of it now, I'll give you a couple of grand for it since you're new here, just as a favour, like.:augie
