full beam light not working

Full beam works, but the blue light on the dash board first started flickering, now completely gone. Is it just a question of taking the screen, then the silver cover off, and dipping the instrument panel forward and looking for the - assume - slightly corroded connection, a squirt of WD40 and it all works again. Or am I just for once too simplistic here.

Probably the bulb gone and, as you say screen off silver screen off and depending how good you are you may be able to remobe the bulb without removing the clocks. Seem to remember that you can just reach the bulb from underneath the cluster(?) behind the headlights without removing anything but it was a VERY tight squeeze.
