The forks were shortened to 220mm travel, same as stock, so the geometry stayed the same. Handling was good. Steering wise, it felt the same as stock but with much better damping. I had the stock spring rate measured. They were a 0.47 and when the USD springs were cut down they were 0.48. I may be could have had slightly stiffer springs but I never experimented with them. I had the clamps machined here in NZ but they now want a lot more to produce any more as they underestimated the work involved in the first one. The clamp offset was 38mm, same as stock, so still good steering lock. The caliper and disc were Braking supermoto parts. Awesome brake but the disc wore fast ( hard pads that came with the caliper ) and got very rattly in the rivets between the disc and caliper so I replaced it with a Brembo one for a 900SS Ducati which had a metal carrier. In the rear of the bike I had an Ohlins. I decided to sell the bike and so sold the whole front end. Some time latter I couldnt bring myself to part with the bike.
