Covered a fair bit of ground over the past 28 hours (left Windhoek 1ish yesterday)
The Kalahari scenery was spectacular, so fabulous I realized taking photos was futile. But here are a couple anyway
Leaving Namibia and entering S Africa was very easy, and friendly...would have taken 10 minutes except I wanted a Temporary Import Permit for the GS just in case I decided to either ship it from SA or leave it here rather than in Namibia.
So had to persuade Customs to issue that and of course their computer was on a go slow!
However they could not give me more than a 6 month TIP which is about a month short of what I would need as the earliest I could get back here is late September.
Today's run...and did I mention it was hot?
At several fuel stations I went to the gents and took off my technical shirt and soaked it with water...great cooling for about an hour.
Finally made it to the quiet little town of Clanwilliam, reputedly the home of rooibos.
But I prefer a glass of the other red berry
