I'm just wondering which of those two ?!?

Either way,i need to buy the TT bar for my GS 1200 to place it correct..

Any opinion ??

Jlabro, I have a 60C and its great, but I think you would be a big tosser to buy one in preference to the Quest.

For the sapme money or LESS you get Mapsourse and 256 MB of memory.

In fact you can have mine for 275££££ as I'd quite happily move to a quest.

I'll even throw in the ram mount

are the 56 MB not enough?? not anough for a hole country let's say ???

the precedure for uploading maps,is that you put the mapsource in the pc,and then upload them to the gps ???

You can set a route on the computer, then put the maps needed on the Quest!

on the 60cs ??

one more thing..is quest's screen bigger or smaller than the 60cs ?

Some people say (in this forum) the screen is quite small !!

Screen size is a personal thing, many 2610 owners think it's too small, (purely because they're used to their bigger ones) but i've come new to GPS, Quest is my first, and i don't have any problems with the screen size at all... it's easy to see, it's clear, all the data is well presented....

As for memory, although the Quest is 256mb, only 243mb of that is useable, the remainder is in use by the system. The 243mb has been plenty enough for me to plan routes down from UK, through to Southern France and back again, so i personally don't find the memory a limiting factor.

I can't comment on the 60c as i have no experience with it, but i do think the 50 odd mb would definately be too small for any longer trip... just my opinion.

The quest wins hands down.

Quest mounted on 12GS

This may help you, re: screen size....

nice one..the screen is quite big, easily read. thanx a lot...about the mounting now..what is the one you use ?

I have orderder the TT bar so i can fit the Garmin mount there..

Any other mounting units ??

Both the 60cs and the Quest share the same size screen 2.2 x 1.5 and 160 x 240 pixles. It’s probably the same display in both devices.
If you primarily want an automotive GPS I’d get the Quest of the two.

i am "leaning" towards the quest unint but,is there an issue with the batteries? i mean,if the 60cs needs 2 simple batteries and the quest need it's charger..what's the best for the bike ??

Any idea how i can connect the quest vharger with the power socket at my 1200gs ? i have seen some threads, but not completely understood. is it possible with the products shiped with the quest to vharge it while riding ??

What mounting cradle and arm is that you are using and where do you get it from?

Sorry if this has been asked before!

Thanks

I bought a "package deal" from gpsw , the Quest came with a RAM Cradle, and RAM mounting kit... everything in the picture came in the deal (bike excluded :D ) and cost total of £360.. a pretty good deal i thought.

Regarding an earlier post asking about battery power, i've found that mine has completed a full 9+ hour day in the saddle, quest in constant use, and by the end of that day, i was on half battery power... same again next day! I genuinely am finding a 15-20hr battery life is the normal.. so it's internal battery is excellent!

Hope this helps...

Ill get a good picture of the way my dad has mounted his in a little while. It's very simple and uses a bit a bent alluminium tube and 2 bolts.

and one last question, the functions of the two models are the same?? because i downloaded the manuals and they seems to be kind of different..

Any comments ???

one more thing..about the screen, the screen of those two is the same considering the "easy reading" ? the backlight is the same?
because i've read that in the 60cs u can read it with direct sunlight, but i have not seen it in any reviews..
any1 knows ?

when i put quest on my bike,i have to buy the bike mounting unit with the power cable or not ??

Do i need the power ??

any1 ?

Before you go spending your money you need to check if the coverage in Greece has improved at all. I was there with my 60c last year and with the full detailed European map just before the Olympics - Greece mapp coverage was awful. Only the very major roads were available and the mapping detail was pretty much useless. Unless this has improved dramatically why waste your money unless you spend most of your time outside Greece. You may as well by a much more basic unit because Quest, 60C or CS , 2610 etc will all be worthless for turn by turn navigation in Greece anyway.

there is a company here, who uploads to your unit the complete map for 8 major cities and all the major-minor-sandy-gravel roads for 80 € . It's worth it i think .
