Gear Shift Assist

You all seem to be getting them fitted OK, but when I ordered one yesterday for my GSA due 1st week of May, was told by Southport that they still can't get the software codes.
Anyone else waiting or has the problem actually been sorted?

I'd been waiting over 6 weeks for the software. The dealer got the component at the beginning of March.

What does it cost to retrofit the Gear Assist to the GS? I rode a S1000R today and was impressed with the gear assist although the sales guy said it was smoother on 4's than lumpy boxer twins. Good fun in a gizmo kinda way. Nice to have not need to have.....

I paid £370 fitted. Until you try one, you can't imagine how much it will change your bike.:rob:D

I stopped in a lay by next to the A417 on the way home today (don't ask!:D). On full chat, by the time I got to the end of the lay by, the bike was doing 90mph.:D

I can't stop laughing!:JB

Now this maybe a stupid question..............wait for it.......Why the feck would one need assisting in ones gear changes? FFS, there will be coffee makers and teas mades built into the panniers next.....

I can understand a quick shifter for racing but is it really necessary for everyday use? Mind you, is Hill assist really any use? oh, I will go back to my rod whipping.....

Do you need a quick shifter? No. Should you get one? Yes. They are fun......simples. Why do you ride a bike? For fun.

Probably the most unnecessary piece of kit you can buy for a German Tractor but the most needed for irrelevant fun. Trust me as I cannot tell a lie, honest.

Nutty’s recently fitted quick shifter was the talk of the recent wales trip. I’d be extremely surprised if all of the other 3 x WC owners on the trip are not seriously considering fitting one. All dealers should have these fitted to their demo bikes – they’d sell shed loads, they sound stunning. Want one – just need a WC to fit it to;)
