Hiya chaps,

done a bit of searching around, and haven't sussed it out yet.... is it possible to remove and replace the switch without major bike surgery - has anyone managed to do it without the swingarm out??

thanks in advance

If you were a Pygmy gynecologist with triple jointed fingers - probably not.

That said, I do have a slight recollection of reading about someone who did it with the SW and shock in place.

Switch

Yes, it can be taken out easy without removing the swing arm.It is held in with a circlip just squeez the ends of the circlip together while pulling it from the gearbox, but it only comes out one way, meaning you will have to chase the wire back to the connector under the left side of the tank unplug it and pull the wire and connector though the hole in the gearbox,as the switch itself is to big to go though. When you replace it the switch can only back in one place,as it has little plastic locating dowl.Andy

Yeah did mine just last week - is undoubtedly a bitch though and I have a Y-pipe which I am sure also helps space-wise. I used a headlight to assist in seeing in there - yes the gyni comment applies and to get the new one positioned is not so easy... they should put some hair around it! (you will need long nose pliers or forceps to grip the release pins)
