Getting my head round SP111 and Mapsource

In my infinite wisdom I managed to , I think, delete the maps from the GPS, so decided to Reload them using mapsource on the PC screen and highlighting the whole of mainland UK, click save to serial GPS, get about 70% loaded (maps, not me ) the gps runs out of batteries after about 1 1/2 hours, recharge batts, start to download and back to square one as the download deletes previous data Where am I going wrong (no that's negative instruction) what do I do to transfer all of the UK and Ireland and is there a way of using the PC Power for the GPS when it is plugged into it?

Hi Rob,

You need to select maps and load them on to the Data card using the USB card programmer.

See the leaflet labeled "Read This First"

You don't need the SP powered until you load routes and waypoints etc.

As above. The maps are held on the data card. You'll need the USB data card reader to load them at a reasonable rate.

You can, however, buy a power/data transfer lead if needs be. Try www.gpsw.co.uk
