Givi Airflow Screen review

I fitted one last month (to my 12GS) and did just over 2000 miles to, from & around the Alps. I think it's a improvement at all speeds, I can now hear my ipod much clearer (less noise).:thumb2
(I'm 6'2" soaking wet):D

I've been following this thread with interest. I have a standard 2010 GS fitted with the Adventure screen and winglets. It's an improvement over the standard screen but the wind noise and buffeting at speed are still annoying so I'm thinking about ordering the Givi AF330.
Firstly does anyone know whether the AF330 fits the 2010GS? I ask this because the Givi website specifically states that the AF330 is suitable for 04-09 GS models. Secondly, can I simply remove the Adv screen and fit the AF330? The bike was delivered from new with the Adv screen and I dont have the original standard screen or mount? Will I need any of the standard screen parts? Lastly, is it worth buying the Tobs now or test the AF330 without them first? I am 6' 1" and have a Sargent seat on the highest setting.
Thanks in advance for any advice

It fits a 2010 as i have one.:thumb

+1 20 000km af330 still on the bike and not coming off any time soon!

I have the GS STD and cant say for sure but, I reckon the lower mounting points would be the same on both the adv and std so I assume the af330 would fit straight on.

Might have to remove the upper mounting bracket??? The givi should fit over the top of it though...

Cheers Pete

Cold temperatures with the screen

I had to go out on Saturday to conduct a Rospa test and was not looking forward to it. However roads were dry but temprature had dropped to around 3 degrees. Rode down the M6 and did most of the test with my visor up. Hardly and wind pressure at all. Screen still performing well, thanks GIVI..... Almost forgot thanks BMW for heated grips....

Hi everyone,

I have read this thread through and would like to know if the AF330 works at speeds from 150 - 200 kph.
I have a 2004 GS and have no problems with turbulence below 130 kph (85mph) it's the higer speeds that get me.
I am lucky enough to be in a place where I can do that, but above 150kph the turbulence is terrible. I get beack after a 250mph ride and I have a headache.
I hired an Adventure a few years ago, did 3500 kms on it, and at 180kph it was fantastic so I am inclined to fit an Adventure screen to my GS, with winglets.
Also I ride with a mad Irishman who has a 2010 Adventure and he's not happy unless we are doing 180kph minimum and he says he has no turblence on his Adventure and he has removed his OEM Winglets because we are in a warm place....

Many thanks,
Peter

I have no problem with mine - I lower the top screen and lay it back a little more when doing motorway stuff. I also have tobinators fitted so there is plenty of adjustment to suit.

Fitted my Givi screen yesterday, went out for a quick blast, what a difference to the old screen. No noise, may even have to forget about earplugs. Visor open at 70+ mph, amazing.

Here is a pic of the screen with the Givi stickers removed.

Will it be possible to post some more pictures of different angles (as per the side BMW screen adjuster) with the Givi Airflow fully opened?

I have all ready installed a Kappa screen without the adjustable spoiler like yours, and due to my height I am not 100% happy.

Also do any of you know if you can purchase separately the Givi Airflow spoiler?

First ride with mine today, much better than standard, though as I have not ridden the bike for about 6 weeks it is hard to directly compare, but definately less noise and reduced buffeting.

Before my music was getting drowned out at 70-80, now it is clear at 100+

I made that mistake once - couldn't live with the soggy handling, temperamental FI and deafening windblast :( A Givi screen improved the noise a bit, but the handling destroyed my confidence - it was like a 70's superbike with a 100bhp 140mph engine in a chassis which couldn't cope

Hello Seven,

Where that picture was taken? I would love to ride on that road , looks really cool !

thanks ,Pogo

cheeses , I just see the picture do not show up,but it is on the page 3 !

Following Tuono1961's excellent review, I fitted an Airflow screen to my Honda scooter and am very pleased with the result.
My speeds are a little lower as I don't go much above 70mph.

It would be nice if it was electric like my RT :toungincheek

Thanks Sven for the info.

I did a search about Grantown-on-Spey , just LOVELY ! I really have to go there! the perfect place for holydays !:thumb

A+ Pogo

5'8 - 2010 GS using a low seat. I ordered some earplugs and being that I am riding much more on 60mph roads I'm feeling the buffeting. I was going to start with the screen first and then moving to the winglets and torbs if no improvement unless anyone has some better advice? Interesting I moved my stock screen down and that was better than up? I have a Touratech Zumo mount and bar installed and I am thinking that should not interfere with the screen? Thoughts would be great.
