Goldfren motorcycle brakepads

Thoughts...

No, I have never use them.

Is it my imagination or are you being even more sarcastic than usual, tonight, Wappers.....?

As for the Goldfrens, a quick search reveals three other threads in which they're mentioned. So it might be worth doing the search thing, Frankie boy.....:comfort

It's your imagination.

Carry on.....

Silly me, I should have realised that it wasn't possible for you to be even more sarcastic than usual. It's so hard to retain one's sense of calibration of these things when the site is suffused with cutting wit.

Perhaps we're close to nice being the new sarcastic......:)

Search !!!

:rob Cheers Schtum I did think of that but nothing came up then I tried again today andit only came up with my post or maybe I can't search properly ??? :blast

There were quite a few posts on the Old Skool Suzuki website about them and none are very complimentary

I've been using them for 6k, front and rear, both sintered. No issues up to now:)

They used to be sold under the newfren name.

Absolute shite pads. There is a huge mark up on them, but i still refused to sell them.

I think Digger also used to sell them and has the same view.

What's the problem with them?
Wear out too soon?
Don't perform well?
Go hard on the disks? (if so I'll trash them right away)

just curious ...

I bought a front set of carbon ceramic pads from Goldfren, fitted them then heard the tales of woe afterwards.

Thankfully I must be one of the few customers who finds the pads pretty good at stopping although they hiss a little on initial bite. They stop the bike better than the well worn original pads used to with the same or less lever effort, so I personally have no complaints about them. Maybe it was the way I bedded them in after fitting ??

Next time I need to change them (probably another 30k+ the way I ride) I'll probably try a set of genuine Brembo pads in the red cardboard box.

I did think about selling a kidney to raise some funds for a set of genuine BWM (Brembo) pads from the local dealers in a posh german cardboard box.:augie
