I picked up my R1200 GSA at 1:00pm today! :bounce1 :D

It was meant to be 9:00am but the dealer rang me at 4:30pm yesterday and said it wouldn't be ready until next week (having told me on Wednesday that it would be ready 1st thing today).

I said, "If it's not ready tomorrow I'm canceling the order & want my deposit back! I've been looking at KTMs you know!"

They called back & said it would be ready @ lunchtime. :)

I just love it, it feels even better than the demonstrator & the hired one I had back in May.

Briefly hit 5000rpm (for like 2 secs.) following an R6 round some very twisty bits on the way home tonight, but have kept it below 4000rpm all day.

here's some pics

question...

should the -ve terminal have a rubber sleeve like the +ve has?

Nope - only really nead to protect the positive from something like a spanner drop so cover is only on + connector.

BTW nice clean bike - when's it gonna get dirty

Why was it going to be delayed .. and how did they get it to you on time again? :nenau

quite brave thing you did there .. I would be suspect as to whether they would have prepared the bike properly just to get you off their back and bike out of the door.

If things goes wrong I can imagine them blaming you for rushing them ..

beautiful machine, your just like my youngest son who loves taking new things to pieces, have you stripped down the engine yet?
enjoy its a great piece of engineering!.

New bikes, old bikes, clean bikes, dirty bikes even broken bikes .........its a passion.

Whiter than white

I'm looking at a GS or GSA, I hadn't thought of hiring one. Where did you hire your GSA from? Is this expensive?

Lovely bike, just wished they still did the white/red option like my 06 bike.

Hopefully they'll re-introduce it or something similar for 09.Or a white/black or all matt black ?

Just not over-keen on magma red.

All they had left to do was the PDI, but they said that they had a lot of urgent work come in suddenly (repairs I suppose) and didn't think they would be able to get mine ready on time. I said that mine had to take priority because I had been promised that it would be ready for Saturday morning.

To be fair to them they were very good about it, they had a problem & really were just testing the waters to see how badly I wanted it and whether they could re-prioritize their workload. On Saturday there were no hard feelings & they understood how keen I was. To be honest I really don't think I would have canceled, but I would have been VERY pissed off to have the bike delayed.

I like the red/white too, the one I hired back in May was red/white.

Also, though I really like some of the GS colours, esp. the blue & the namibia orange - can't see why they don't offer the same colour options on the GSA?

That said, I think mine looks beautiful! :D

Well done that man :thumb2 As a fellow "runner-in" I know just how excited you must be. Bit of a bummer keeping the revs down but I was assured that the occassional burst of enthusiasm was well within tolerance :augie

Luverly bike......................Just like the new one owned by the person who's old bike I bought.

They never wear out they just get recycled !!!!!!!

Great stuff.
