Got Shaft Rot.... again WTF

unless its rusted solid to the BB splines, then you'd have to pull it from the gearbox end and pull the BB and the shaft out... but you don't have to remove the arm at all!!

however if it was due to a component failure....... It would not be covered!! so what does the warranty cover.. only the bit's that don't fail :yelrotflm

Really inspires confidence in BMW.
They have making shaft drive bikes for decades.
And they still corrode.
Do KTM and have the same quality issues?

20 mins to remove and refit rear wheel?:blast, plus the other ridiculous times which i cant be bothered to type:D

Always have to be better..................:clap if I do mine in 3 hours I will be happy, Warlord was quoting for a first timer..........so better to check work twice over to be sure it is done to spec.

And your next drink is................:boozer:boozer:boozer:boozer however if you could give us some of your highly qualified technical advice, I am sure it will be appreciated, so waiting on your help.

Seriously though Warlord. Is it just a case of disconnecting the drive shaft behind the first rubber gaiter near the gearbox and pulling all through? Because the technician thinks he has to take the back end off the bike!!

Neil it is actually not a hard job, as basically if their is corrosion as they say, it will only be at the bottom, Warlords was corroded he cleaned it up, the whole shaft, but you may only need to do the bottom of the shaft, see video below, it is not a hard job, just take your time, plenty of videos to see how it is done.
