Got the green light....Thunderbirds are go!!!

Ooh just spotted this, love a Bounce trip report, especially when it's another multi-centre mini-break and there's lots of lovely pics of mountains (and food!) :beerjug:

Looks like you had a fab time. It's a fantastic part of the world to be on two wheels, (pics brought back memories of all the times I've cycled up those Cols!). Reminded me I just need to get my sh~t together and get over there again soon.

Hope your bash plate survived the journey Keith? :D

You're right Paul, it's a lovely part of the world but I'll leave the cycling up the Col's to you!! ;)

It was a great trip and lucky we were able to travel & avoid the quarantining. To be fair, everywhere we stayed implemented the appropriate safety measures - face coverings mandatory, hand sanitizer available, social distancing in situ...

The weather held for us all week, until our return day & 20km ish to Cherbourg and the rain arrived. The forecast for our run home from Portsmouth was for rain, but it didn't happen so I was bone dry when I got home :D

It appears my bash plate is OK; got the 2nd phase detailed clean planned tomorrow so I'll report back :D

Weds 22nd July

Today would see us have a day en Espagne to enjoy ourselves on the N230 & N260, to then wiggle through Andorra and back into France.

The lake & Van Dam @ Montanuy:

We needed a pee so stopped in a car park @ Font de la Figureta (still on the N260):

So after the selfie stop, it was a couple of hours to lunch, so back onto the N260. Again, scenery was lovely:

These are from Soriguera:

So it was lunchtime, and the next decent sized town was La Seu d’Urgell, so off we went.

La Seu was bigger than we expected, but happened to find this place, La Mina Restaurant:

So with lunch done, it was time to head north.

We’d be going through Andorra, and pick up the N20 into France. We had a rough idea of where to stay that evening (Foix), but @ this stage hadn’t booked digs.

Got through the border nice & easy from Spain to Andorra, and got through the country asap.

Some pictures from Encamp in the north of Andorra:

Once we were back in France, the bat phone rang & Nutty had to deal with some work items.

So we stopped in a lay-by whilst his nibs dealt with work, and I set about browsing booking dot com for a hotel.

Work - done
Digs - found

Address into the gizmo’s and we were off.

20 km’s from Foix, the heavens opened and down came the rain.

Arriving at our digs was a welcome site:

Hotel de lac, Lieu dit Labarre, Foix.

Air conditioning & a heated towel rail were brilliant for drying all the kit out.

Rooms were lovely & comfortable:
