Gray lobes

Looking at an 09 800gs today with the top off and the lobes on the camera look as if someone has taken a 600 grade wet and dry to the lobes, yet the lobe rear is nice and shiny.

Any thoughts out there.

I take it you mean the camshaft lobes. Wasn't there a recent thread on here about exactly the same thing....?

Yea just found it. Was there a recall on this issue.
