6k service - £163.00 from Motorrad Central East in Dalkeith. That was with motech engine bars fitted - seems fair enough to me.

Get your bike over to Southport Superbikes next time round, my GSA just covered 5500 miles so had Annual and 6000 combined, £190, That was Engine Oil, Gearbox Oil and thats it! Bargain.....mmmm

They charged me £338.11 for a 30K miles Service

parts used were engine and rear wheel drive oil, fuel filter, generator belt and plugs plus £60.00/hr labour ..

Had my 6000 service done at Williams Manchester,£280. When I dropped the bike off they suggested that I went for a walk and to come back in a couple of hours, no mention of a loan bike. As it was raining I declined their offer of an amble round the backside of Manchester and waited in the showroom for two hours to then be presented with a pair of badly worn rear pads. Pads fitted and bill paid I went home and noticed the rear caliper hadn't been cleaned or pad pins greased,nor had the front calipers been cleaned. 3000 miles on the rear pads aren't showing any noticable wear, hmm, I do hope they dont keep a pair of knackered ones in the drawer to show to customers.
Has anybody got any feedback on Rainbow Rotherham, I've heard their service is second to none.

Rainbow are top for service and servicing. I've been going there for 5+ years with no complaints about quality or cost.

By comparison, my BMW car is £100 or £150 alternating every 17000 miles. And the 1200GS is old technology so why is a 2 cyliinder bike way more than a car to service?

Bargain? No way!

6000 mile service (bike a year old) at Southport Superbikes was about £150. 1200 mile service (including 2-year inspection and expensive change of brake fluid) was about £320 at Bluebell (who also beat my ususal tyre supplier by more than the cost of a pint). Since the 12000 service the bike goes like it never did before. Service costs seem better the a Tiger in 1998 (presumably because you can get at the engine without removing Tupperware at £xxx per hour).
