gs911 and tps

can anyone tell me if the gs911 is able to configure tps?,i have just put a spare set of wheels on just before a euro tour and they are not registering.the dealer can not get me in before my trip.i know i could carry on regardless but if i can get them working then i would like to do so.so if the gs911 will do the job and anyone local to me has one i would be happy to pay to have them coded.

Theoretically yes, the GS911 can match the TPS to the bikes computer. I've been into the menus and its all there to do it although have not actually tried it myself as both of mine have failed - I think the batteries have failed and I need to replace those when I next change tyres.

They do not always wake up when you use the letting the pressure out quickly method.
BMW use an RF device to wake them.
You can code them very easily with the GS911 if you have the number on the sensors. ( not the long bar code number but the 6 or 7 digit number often on the sticker under the sensor) BMW have been known to remove the stickers so that you have to go to them for coding.
GS911 will let you code 2 sets of wheels for one bike so no need to delete the old codes. (make a note of the other wheel numbers for future reference)
This is assuming we are taking RDC sensors, BMW`s TPMS.

ok,now this was the reason for asking about the gs911 because i had heard that bmw use a tool screwed to the valve,btw whats the letting air out quickly method all about then

I am under the impression that letting the air out quickly is a way to wake up the devices with the bike being static and effectively does the same thing as taking the bike out and getting it above 25mph or whatever the speed is to wake them up. I think you still have to know the device code and use the GS911 to enter those in before you can wake them up to read pressures. Having said that, it is just my understanding based on what I've read on the GS911 forum.

ok thanks for that,i will try the air solution.btw when i bought 2 new tps for my cast wheels i asked the dealer if i had to make a note of any numbers on the sensors to make coding easier,they said no oh well.

Plug the GS911 in.
Select - bike model ---- Tyre pressure Monitor ----- Tyre pressure sensor learning----- follow instructions regards deflating tires (You might be lucky)
If you have the codes click the "advanced" button and enter the codes.

Mate, if your tyre pressures worry you buy a cheap guage and live with the warning triangle. The bike will still work!

yep as in the op its not a showstopper,and i have a compessor and puncture repair kit on board,im still sleeping ok
