As no one had nothing to say to me about Pidcocks at Long eaton, I went down for my 2009 1200GSA Recall check, I went there instead of Williams at Manchester
(who are great) as it was cold and a pal from Notts taged along for a wee ride out.
When I was given the bike back after Pidcocks had done the so called recall work, I attempted to start the bike but it would not start easy in their rear carparK. I had to twist open the throttle hold it there and then with my left hand lean across and press the starter button, keeping the revs on, it then started but was a little lumpy, at the very same time a triangle yellow warning light came on the dash. I assumed she was low on fuel, I rode down the road and filled her up with £32.00 worth of gas!
Then i rode home some 50 odd mile? which the bike was fine no probs at all. When i arrived home i had to stop to get through our gates and the bike cut out would not tick over (she was hot) i had to rev her and keep revs on again... I then washed the bike put her away.
Today seemed like nice day for a ride, I started the Goldwing as my dearest was coming for a ride with her heated jacket etc etc and there is heated seat heated grips heated foot throwers... on the wing! Then change of plan after phone call from one of the daughters wife not coming ! So I thought "thats it solo ride i will get the Beemer out got wragged up ready to go and
"YES you Guessed it" Would not start unless i did the two hand shuffle again, it ran like a bag of spanners.....
So i thought i would just ring Pidcocks and make sure (well ask) just what had they done workwise on my bike.... They said they had only fitted two cable ties as a BMW safety check to the routing of the clutch cable? Had me checking throttle cables and pulleys then told me to call the BMW warrannty number the 777 111 number which i did, a very nice lady then sent out a chap after 3-4 hrs (glad i was not freezing sat at side of road?) The chap came out to my home and looked at the bike saying Mmmm not good not starting right and exchanged the fuel module? saying it already had the latest modified module installed? He then tried the bike still the same so re fitted the origional fuel moduel.
Then he left later this nice lady rang me again and informed me that a very very nice man with a truck will be at mine at 8.00AM to take the GSA to Pidcocks to sort it?
I cant help but think
whats gone off?
Never a prob till took for recall ?
so I will have to see the outcome I am well interested to see what it was.
Any Idea's
