So about a year on from getting the GSA,
Been a few ups and a few downs,
Findings so far are as follows,
Fitted the Puig Touring Screen with Cymarc brackets,
Absolutely brilliant wind protection on the motorway in the upper position with hardly any buffering, just right at 6'2 I can see right over the screen which rocks for me but kept me out of some really bad weather on a big trip to cornwall - Hailstorm etc.
Tyres - Avon Road riders,
Absolutely brilliant, hit the Mudsling though which I've removed for now till I get some time to carry out the modification for fitting it with the Avon's can't wait to try that, when it comes between the Mudsling or the Avons' I'd choose the Avons for the extra feel and quietness on the bike,
Globe scout Panniers,
Not sure if these are my best buy to be honest, look amazing finish is beautiful, but on a trip to cornwall they leaked quite bad resulting in everything getting drenched, thinking of the bmw ones to replace them or run some extra sealant on all the rivets if I can figure out the leaking,
The bike,
Brilliant handling and an engine that excites, doesn't like being bimbled sometimes though, - looking at re mapping at hilltop, to sort the surging
rain mode calms it for a bit then it comes back.
Brakes - really good feel them pulsing sometimes with the abs after they were bled at the last service anyone get this?
Seat Height, 6'2 32 inch inseam great apart from sometimes when it gets sketchy putting your feet down if the road falls off pot hole or off camber
just got Cymarc lowering cams to try with a further 10 mm drop (note though I do wear Dianese Axial Pro inner race boots only ones that fit my slim feet so not much on the soles of the boots looking for a slim fitting boot with a high sole next)
Looks
Comments everywhere I go none stop haha makes my dads gsx-r 750 look tiny and is so much comfier to not touched my fire blade since Ive owned the bmw
Reliability
Questionable so far to be honest, nothing major apart from things that have been caused at dealers,
New Set of Clocks - needle bouncing few issues with the ESA locking solid with no warning,
Currently looking at a new engine/final drive for corrosion issues,
also had some with the frame and crash bars although I don't think much chance of that under 20k miles and 2 years in not to happy about that one
Costs-
Here's the killer 350 quid average service 450 for the extended warranty with break down works out 30 a month or so for the warranty doesn''t cover everything but does some things and the price of the parts re a killer so worth it for me
currently got the repayments on the HP at 200 a month 2 services at 350 + pads and the extended warranty so the running costs are quite high, on minimum wage at work long story so do feel it a bit.
Question is would I keep it,
Currently not so sure brilliant bike but everything isn't about speed when I do think of getting rid something draws me right back to it bit of an intoxicating ride.
1150 adventure is the next move I think maybe instead of some of my rd 350 lc's
Now the interesting stuff pictures
Hope this helps some people thinking of A LC
