not sure if its just me but when riding the GSA 2016 there seems to be a lot of what I would call road noise from the front end tyre is this normal of can anything be done to stop this thanks

Test road a GSA thought the road noise was horrendous, took it back, salesman said it was noise of the front tyre

Not sure is normal but my one is the same. Though is a Anakee tyres issue

Mine isn't an adventure but have spoked wheels and Anakee tyres and it does the same!!! My last GS had cast wheels and different tyres so I wasn't sure if it was the spoked wheels making the noise from maybe airflow or the different tyre, so is the general consensus that the Anakee are causing the noise? If so I'm getting new tyres! It really bugs me!

I can honestly say that in 35 years of riding motorbikes that I've never heard of noisy tyres.
What do they sound like ?

I went through exactly the same issue. Sold me GSA 2013 which didn't have any issue with noise to purchase the a GSA 2016 and my first thought was that there was something rubbing on the wheel. After spending a lot of time investigating the cause of such noise, I was told by a mate that it was the Anakee 3 front tyre that made that noise. He has changed his tyres and the noise has gone. I'm still with the Anakees as I still have lots thread left on them but will be changing them.
The question is what am I going for... Possibly TKC70's (hmmm the front wheel weave), Karoo 3 or Anakee Wilds ( however they are reported to be loud as well).
Maybe the arrival of the Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR may bring the answer to my quest.

It's the Anakee 3's making the noise on our crap road surfaces, seek out a stretch of brand new tarmac and you'll notice the difference. My 2nd set of tyres were Pr4 trails and they were nearly as bad.... gone back to A 3's on 3rd set !!

I'm going back to ContiTrail Attack II! That noise just bugs me too much.

I put it down to the gaping hole right in the sight line to the front wheel, although some do it worse than others, I tried a GSA a couple of years back & thought to myself I can't live with the noise..

Drove me nuts till I got a loud exhaust on it but can still hear it and to be honest I really thought about getting rid of my bike due to it as I have tinnitus and its making it worse

cant have ear plugs either so I'm stuck with owning a fantastic bike but the horrible noise with it

Changed to Bridgestone A40's because of this, much much better!

whats the grip etc like ?

I do like how the 3's grip and ride but hate the noise

I have had no issues with grip, positive feedback even when pushing hard, not too bad on compacted gravel type roads too (a lot of them here). Found them particularly good in the wet, I guess due to the deep grooves. On the downside the tyre walls are very stiff indeed, they don't allow fitting by levers and even the guy in the shop with the machine had difficulty. Wear mileage is unknown for the moment as this is my first set, but seem to be wearing as to be expected so far.

My Karoo 3's are noisy, as soon as the back goes i'm changing

Yep, as with others....changed the Anakee 3s to TR91s and the noise was much reduced.
