Hi All

Well today I made the transition from being the dolly on the back of Wully's bike with 'all the poo and nae a clue' to learner so I thought I'd celebrate by becoming a poster instead of a lurker.

Thanks to all your support after my fairly disastrous trial lesson in Glasgow, Bill booked me on a CBT in Oban with a girlie instructor. She was great - really positive and encouraging. I really enjoyed myself (in spite of the pishin rain) and am now the proud owner of my CBT and now looking at wee bikies on the internet.:bounce1:)

So I reckon I'm now a learner muppet with learner tosser aspirations.:thumb

Di

Hi Di!:thumb Glad to hear you got a decent instructor, as it can make such a difference to your confidence. Well done with the CBT!:D
Any ideas of any bikes you fancy? Wully's a bah humbug, but he could at least get you a decent present!!:thumb2:D
Keep us updated!

I think a wee prezzie is on the way ( she's a birthday girl next month after all..)

I might see if there's anything nice when I'm down at the bike show next week.:augie

And I'll be taking the keys for the GS with me as well.....especially as the instructor used my bike to teach her how to get a bike on and off the centre stand:eek:

Well done Di, no stopping you now.

Wully, good call with the keys too!!

Can recommend the Honda XR125 as agreat wee learner bike. Deb loved hers.

Just had to say congrats :hogroast:hogroast on passin you cbt................nice to have another girlie biker onboard.................janie xxx

ta much everyone :cool::cool:

You're so right - the instructor made a huge difference to my confidance although i was still bricking it to start with out on the road. Re bike - been looking at pix on the internet - anything really to get me started - preferably without it requiring too much time in the garage getting fixed:blast

cheers :thumb2- was going to ask what she started out on

Hiya Di, well done.

Depending on whether you're just looking for something to pass your test on then sell on, then these kinda things are great value.

My gurlie "H" got one last year for £425 from these folk, picked up by us from the dealer in a crate. Half a day wi the spanners an she had a brand new Chinese copy of a Honda GS125. Lecky start, good brakes and pretty good build quality. She did 1500 miles then passed it on for the same money when she passed her test.

There's loads of em being knocked out on Ebay with different names but all from the same factory.

good luck

Cheers for that:thumb2. It's one of the bikes on the wish list. Might go for a wee looky tonight.
Do you know anything about them? What to look for etc? Or are the one of the bullet proof Hondas?

Honda's premier 125 looks more like a 600:eek:

Bullet proof as any Honda
look out for the usual, brakes, tyres, fork seals, chain and sprockets.

Went for a wee looky tonight...new back tyre, sprockets and chain, tax, MOT,few wee scrapes but not as much as it'll have soon ..:blast

Going back for another look in the daylight as there were a few wee things I'd like a good look at. Nice bikes though- also checked out some brand new ones in the Oban bike shop ( cannae remember what it's called..)

BTW- If Di gets a bike does that mean I can get a new bike too?:augie

Mibbies an ADV?:clap

Don't get a new one:nono if the second hand one has scrapes it's not as bad to put more scrapes on it rather than christen a new bike, plus the price drop, for all the time Di will have it:nenau she'll probably get an Adventure before you do:P
