Had my bike stolen last night

Yeaaah well , if you go to those extremes why not do what I did and move to a place where this shit doesn't happen. I Never lock my house or car, and never wormy about stuff being missing when I come back .................. its worth a lot and it changes ones perspective on mankind ..

Where did u say you lived;)

What - Oxford? :D

Got a replacement for my stolen bike....

Well I am quite happy today as I got a full market value payout for my stolen GSA.
The settlement amount was the same as what I paid for my replacement GSA :D
So I'm back and rolling again and am now a subscriber to this cool forum!
The only downside (apart from increased insurance premium) is the suspension is ready for retirement so I'm in the market for a decent upgrade set....

Good for you. Naturally I'm hoping for the same (or return of my bike of course!).

Mind if i ask where you finally got the replacement from? Wondering where to start (beyond this forum of course). The only places I'm thinking of are here MSN and eBay...

Bike Trader and, if you're struggling to find one in this country… Mobile.de

Thanks gents. I've had a cursory look and you're right, some of the prices are just daft. Forgot about bike trader!

I paid well over a grand less than this for mine - same year and miles and more T/T bling :D
so shop around and make offers that you may think are silly - you never know.

Thanks. Something like this with the grand off and a bit would work for me. :thumb2

I suppose I should be kinda happy with the idea of shopping for a 'new' bike. But i had mine so sorted and knew it well. It was a good apple. :(

As mentioned earlier, before anything else gets done to the replacement, security is the first thing i'm dealing with. Reading Steptoe's posts suggests others should be doing the same!
