I recognise that few of you on here may wish to put Muffs on your GS however, has anyone done so, particularly with reference to the indicators being on the handlebars vs on the side of the bike?

I notice that very few companies make the front of the Muff transparent & from what I can see from the Webb site pictures it appears as though it will potentially reduce the view of the indicator.

My reason for asking; I will purchase a GS1300 at some point, which I will use all year around & typically put Muffs on the bike from Nov through to March.
Therefore need to consider if I’m to purchase a GS with indicators on the handle bars or not.

Hope you can assist.

These days heated gloves are really good. I had bars muffs on my old 1200 and have tried both battery and wired heated gloves and much prefer the wired as they last longer and get way hotter.

If you are commuting or doing something where you're getting on and off a lot, the muffs will be the way to go but assuming you probably are not doing that on a 1300

Macna are worth a look

Umhh I’ll have a look.
I must admit I do like Muffs due to being able to wear considerably thinner gloves even in the Northern winter, but as you say maybe heated gloves are the way to go.

Still no takers for indicating what you are doing to maintain warm hands in all weathers?
I really dont want to go down heated glove route as still water penetrates & would prefer to go with Muffs but I'm not getting much feedback of people using them...
I'm about to press the button on a GS but at the moment its going to have to be one specc'd with side indicators vs having them in the handlebars?

Goretex winter gloves and heated grips. Fine for 1.5hrs at a time and I do suffer with cold extremities. Good winter gloves will manage wind chill, which is all the bar muffs are doing anyway.

Disagree - muffs keep the rain off your gloves stop water creep up inside cuff & stops you having to wear thicker gloves.
Use my bike all year through in severe cold winter conditions - Cumbria based.

Has no one used muffs on GS1300?

Nobody has. You may now go and install them

Muffs are great - used to have them on a Tiger Explorer 1200 with hand guards (they went on the inside). Make/model: Tucano Cortina.

A few problems: They made the grip that bit narrower, it wasn't so easy to find buttons, they were a struggle to get dry after washing and they did restrict your hands going on and off the bars a bit.

Haven't got around to fitting them on the GS yet but I ride all year so I might give it a go. Not sure how they'd work with the wonder wheel. Alternatively, will go for heated gloves.
