Handlebar options

Can anybody confirm whether the bars on the 2004-2006 1200GS can be fitted to the later model ? I have a 2010 with Nippy bar risers (up and back) but would like to bring them 1/2 inch closer still. The earlier bars are much more 'swept back'. I asked my dealer but they weren't sure - just said it was a different part number so probably won't fit .

Any other handlebar options I might consider - the standard bars are too flat.

blind advice here, but they should fit... As I recall the stem of the new bikes is pretty much identical...
