Currently I have two GS 1150's and I want to swap the handlebars over, as one of them has R1150R bars on it.

Haynes manual at the ready and it all looks fairly straightforward, but then comes to a standstill very early on.

I remove the bar end weights, I then peel back the inner part of the grip and remove the screws (one each side).

The manual then says "Disconnect the wiring connector and release the cable shoes".

WHICH FERKIN WIRING CONNECTOR AND WHICH CABLE SHOES ?

I have traced the cable, and they disappear down under the tank somewhere, and there doesn't seem to be any wiring connector evident near the handlebar.

More to the point what is a bleedin cable shoe ?

Can anyone help ? more to the point is there someone I can ring to ask stupid questions of throughout the day ?

Thanks

Good question, and when you find the answer, let us know. I'm about to do the same, and I'm interested to know if you really need to drain the brake and clutch fluid, or whether it can be done without.

You certainly don't need to drain these fluids. The whole assembly comes off the handlebars once the cables have been disconnected.
