Has anyone done an EPROM upgrade

The guy I bought my 1150GS off had bought an end can, decat pipe, filter and EPROM chip to suit.
A I'm a little nervous of messing with the ECU in case I break something.
 
It is not too difficult to do. When you have the ECU on the bench, take the screws out that keep the two halves together. The unit is sealed with silicon so you have to carefully slide a thin bladed screwdriver inbetween to gently prise it open, it will resist but with patience it will open, keep the screwdriver to the edges of the unit - you don't want it poking around inside and maybe causing damage. When you have the unit open it is obvious which is the chip to be removed, again gently pry it out a little at a time each side. Just take your time and be careful and you should be fine:thumb
