Has anyone used ebay LED spotlights

Not yet but I am going to remove them very soon as it's far too easy to accidentally select the annoying strobe mode, still waiting for my nice bar mounted switch too so they are permanently on with the ignition switch at the moment.

Yes I know a real pain.

Could you please send me a link to where you got the switch please as I put one on the dash but it is too far to reach on the go.

All finished

Well the switch arrived in today's post and I'm back on shift tomorrow so I got the job finished straight away. Installed the switch on the RH bar next to the switchgear, It looks just right and a good quality unit in solid Ali, also I opened up both units and flipped out the U2 chip to remove the annoying 3 mode setting, now they always power up in full power mode every time.
Result!!

Well done spanner monkey - a good job and, despite naysayers, lights work fine - looks like you can call yourself a dick too now :)

Well, I remain "fekked if I know".
I am half blind in the dark, despite a HID installed by the prev. owner.
Shall I spurt a few squid on these with a new switch and detonate the flasher chip?
GSaddict was behind me the other night (calm down, now) and was good enough. I didn't get a chance to see your's Grimm...

If you get some bring them to the next WM meeting - we'll have a session fitting them for you :)

When I installed my lights I used this item from eBay :

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-fuseb...79c65ca&pid=100011&rk=1&rkt=8&sd=261812162063

It only becomes live when lights are switched on and powers a smaller set of running spot lights. Then I have an additional relay from the main beam that fires off a second set of larger led spots. The whole thing works great and no need for additional switches. Though my wiring is a bit of a mess, I need something tider to join all the earth wires etc.

I've got a couple of these if you're interested. Unused. Fiver each?

The best LEDs I have found yet.

£69 for the pair, 1.2 kilos each (weigh less than the sun but are similar in output!)

Bought from [email protected]

They do a 7" version which knocks these into a cocked hat but I thought they were too big.

Last weekend the lights gave up the ghost, replaced them with these ones http://www.jaycar.com.au/Outdoors-&...proof-Mini-10W-Cree-Flood-Light-Pair/p/SL3938
Smaller and don't vibrate like the others did.
My 11 year old son had a brilliant idea on what to do with the old ones, will post a pic tomorrow.
