i was cleaning my brakes tonight and realised one of the pistons was sticking so i put a ring spanner betwwen the 2 piston that were free and pumped the front brake level to push out the sticking one which it did, i then cleaned it up and pushed it back home again no probs but!!
when i removed the ring spanner to return the other 2 i noticed the spanner has punched a 10mm hole in the middle of the face of one of the pistons, i noticed that they are a cast metal.
will this cause any long term problem or does it no really matter?

thoughts please ?

mmmm you don't mention if any fluid came out.. either before you put the pads back on or after... if its not leaking.. I wouldn't worry about it - i would though be looking for a replacement piston. (cause i do paranoia too)

Is it not just the grey plastic cover which has been damaged? I'm sure they are available separately.

no fluid leaked out and no sure if it was plastic but it was grey.
i will check tonight to see its still no leaking.

it's just a noise suppression plastic insert thingy

Don't worry too much about it

I don't think they are listed seperately
