dam if I can remember seeing if the head light when on dip should light up,when I put it onto full beam it lights up,but I was sure that both sides light up on the head light, you know, the larger side, and the smaller side, the smaller side is out,but lights up when I flick the switch to main beam.
I have got a light showing the arrow pointing upwards on the display screen,so I would say the bulb is gone, but it don't look bust???
Right here is my go at translating this.
You have an arrow on the display, pointing forward. I guess there is also a picture of a lightbulb and the word 'lampe'?
If so, it is more likely than that one of the front bulbs has failed.
(a) It could be the parking light. Mine has never failed, so not sure what the screen may say. Turn on the ignition, wander around to the front and have a look.
(b) It could be the 'dip' light. Easy to tell, just start the engine, walk around the front, look to see if the dip light is on.
(c) It could be the main beam' light. Easy to tell, just start the engine, flip the switch to main beam, walk around the front, look to see if the main beam light is on.
(d) It might be one of the 'spot lamps' - never had a failure so not sure what the screen shows. Again, start the bike, light the spot lamps up and wander around the the front.
If all, some, or any of the bulbs have gone, replace at your leisure, or earlier if it is dark.
When replacing the bulbs(s) take care, plenty of people seem to break the mountings and they are a pain to mend.
When replacing the bulb(s) the failure light on the dash will still show a fault.......until the new bulb has been lit, so you will need to repalce AND START THE ENGINE. After that, the warning should vanish.
If all the bulbs are working and the warning is still lit, it may be a slightly dirty contact (more doubtful) if so clean....with care.
Still lit and all bulbs working? Self-diagnostic fecked or the arrow was pointing backwards and you were simply standing on your head. If so, repeat process at the rear. Brake / tail lights are combined but twinned.
It's all in the handbook.....
Failing that, call BuMW Assist.......
