I bought a secondhand 800gs without heated grips
I fell down when my local dealer quoted circa £400 to buy and fit genuine BMW (there is a lot of programming time to make the grips work sir!!)
Being a bit of an electrical luddite as far as canbus goes If i bought the oxford grips (my colleague has them on an Africa Twin and they have a very low power consumption) could i wire them into the back of accessory socket and would they then work only when the key is switched on.
I could wire them direct to battery but if i forgot to switch them off or fiddling fingers switched them on whilst parked they would drain the battery.
I could also wire them direct to battery through a hidden plug and unplug when parked but would really like to wire so they can only be operated when the key is switched on.
