Folks,

Would I be right in thinking that if my 2011 GS detects the battery may be below a certain level it will stop the Heated Grips working?:nenau

Had occasions where the grips won't switch on....then after stopping and starting later they do.

Today the bike was on charge, went to run it for 10 mins and the grips came on when tested. (Battery was full)
I'm pretty sure the battery is the original, so it might be that the battery is ready for changing.

Cheers

Best thing would be to have the fault codes read, someone there is bound to have a GS911. If not nick Jol's or Waynes battery. When my battery was going on my 09 it was the HID lights mucking about that gave me the first indication. Just get a new Motobatt if you suspect it, £50 for peace of mind.

Yep....think I will just get a new battery.

Seen that the Motobats and the Odysseys seem popular....just the cost of the Odyssey is a big difference.

Thanks for the reply. I had a scan through a manual today when I had a minute, and it confirms my suspicions in black and white regarding the grips.
Will keep it on the Ctek charger and decide in the meantime which to plump for.

i had the same issue with my 2010, changed to a motobatt, haven't had a problem since. don't keep it on charge anymore.

I found on my old TC that if i had the bayyery off for any reason (buggering about fitting lights and things) the canbus got a bit confused and the grips stopped working
They would always "re start" after a few ons and offs of the ignition

Well....that's confirmed it for me. Nice one thanks.
Just gotta shop about for the cheapest supplier now.....like the idea of the Odyssey but £50 more I don't think i will notice. Plus I don't have extra lights or any other extra drawing on the battery so I'm sure the Motobat will be just the job

Thanks for the replies Gents
