HEATED GRIPS

Interesting.
I wonder if somebody wants to measure the voltage entering the grips?

It may be possible to re-wire the feed via a simple potentiometer or 2 position switch with a resistor to bypass the BMW H&S stuff :augie

You shouldn't have to though......not on a modern bike :blast
The 11xx heated grips are toasty as anything...ah well, that's progress for you :augie

It's probably PWM control

Heated grips

hI every one from a poor cold yorkshire man !! still you are paying for a very expensive extra that needs to be as good as the previous model,if not better, i ride all year round and hate to think what my rides will be like in the winter .As there seems to be the general opinion that they are not efficient.we all should complain to BMW ,and see if there can be a modification or recall.

Hi just seen the post regards gloves, normaly i have worn summer gloves all the time on my two previous gs,s and never had a problem in the cold .

In 2008 BMW changed from steel handle bars to aluminium handle bars, that's why your heated grips are crap, complain all you want, it wont get you anywhere :blagblah

BMW F800GS. Alloy bars and the heated grips worked fine.

Bollox, 59 GS, they work no prob. Far better than the Lc i took out. But as people say, complain enough and they may sort it for next year:thumby:

heated grips work best when one is wearing no gloves - hope that helps

More than likely it is but that will have gone right over the top of their heads ;)

:D if it is then it is just a small software (firmware) update, BUT BMW will have a process to follow before making any changes so I am not holding my breath.
