Sorry, but I never felt how hot they were on your Adv


But if it's any help, to date I have never needed my 12GS's heated grips on any thing hotter than setting one and that seems pretty hot. But only had the bike since April.

Strangely the heated grips on my 12 are far hotter than my 1150. I thought they were the same basic unit on both bikes and the difference could be explained by the smaller diameter of the 12 bars.

Somehow, I feel I stand to be corrected!

Don't the 12's have alloy bars ? 1150's are steel so will not dissapate heat so readily.....
