Where the heck are you supposed to hook, hang or dangle the on/off switch.

Just bought a BWM one and the switch is not waterproof (yes I was fully aware of that before I bought it) and the instructions suggests that you need to keep it all covered.

But where are you supposed to hide it all so that it does not get wet but you can alter the heat setting.

BTBR - I dunno if this helps. I have a Widder waistcoat, with a lead with an accessory plug on it whihc I plug into the socket near the nearside footrest. The lead is curly, and has the on/off switch up the other end, if that makes sense. I then have an extension which remains plugged into the w.coat. When I get off, all I do is unplug the two leads from each other. The curly one steches up and is tucked under the front of the seat, between the seat and the tank.

Does that make any sense at all????? I fear not. I think I haven't explained that very well, have I?

:D :D

I have a Gebring with a thermostat. I just pop the gubbins in me pocket.

It's too warm for heated jackets now anyways!

Great big twot........fer goodness' sakes, it's March and you've just bought a heated waistcoat???

All is not lost though.....they'll start selling winter jackets in June so you should be able to pick up as well ;)

Seriously though...I didn't know they weren't waterproof...mine's held up nicely with many a drenching.

I take my curly cord over the top of the bars and then tuck any spare cord in my jacket pocket.....turns out fairly neat .

Arrr....but you see its like this........heated waist coats in the winter cost a feckin' fortune, but buy one now and save yourself a packet...easy!

Now who's a great big twot then??

Like Fanum said, I never knew the BMW controller isn't waterproof. I've used mine through all weathers over winter. I normally wrap the lead once around one of the side straps on my jacket, to relieve tension on the crappy little plug that connects to the waistcoat itself.

I have the Bmw one and a savanah suit .

I use the waist fastener on the trousers to secure the controller under the jacket and take stress away from the plug in the jkt

and I will be taking it with me in june :D

I didnt last year and regretted it .it lashed down in czech and germany and was fecking freezing!

The not water prof bit means -
if it fails when wet it is your problem not ours.

Don't worry about it - the thing will fail eariler than if it was operated in a airconditioned office is all. Buy another one when it fails.

Mine sits outside the jacket in rain and snow (yes it does snow in some parts of oz during the winter). But then it is a good ozie product so can handle it. It needs to be readly accessable as you go from snow to rain to just cold (coming down) or the other way around if going up.

Also use the BWM one in all weathers and despite the water warning it's lasted 3 seasons so far.

Like mouse I loop the straight bit of the cord behind the belt/strap on my jacket then just extend the curly bit over the bars to the beak where I've fitted an extra socket like and ADV. When you get off, just unplug the lead and it hangs from your belt

heated jacket

Ive cut about 5 inchs of the power lead off
resoldered the connection. Which is better then i kinda just tuck
it into the front of my seat.
I tuck the swich bit under my jacket.(the draw string holds it in)
