Before I get any stick for starting a tyre thread ... I have bothered to search the forum and have read as much as I can.
I think I know what I want but I can't find anyone to buy them from
Time to change my Anakees after 8k. Worn down the centre (1st 6,000 miles were in a country with no bends!)
I want everything of course:
. At least 'cheap' isn't on the list, I don't mind paying for something decent. If we are to believe manufacturer websites pretty much any dual purpose tyre does all the above but I'm more interested in the real world.
I had BFG All Terrains on my old 300TDI Discovery and they were the perfect tyre. If I can find the GS equivalent I'll be happy.
So was thinking ...
TKC80: OK all round, many say noisy and some not happy with wet road performance, speed limited though 100mph is enough anyway, certainly good enough off road for me
Karoo / Karoo T: Similar to the TKC I believe but maybe not so long lived?
Anyway TKC and similar are, if I'm honest about how I actually use the bike, more off road biased that I need. I'm not a mud plugger and though I like 'the look' I should be reasonably sensible and buy tyres that actually suit my needs ...
SO: Heidenau K60 keeps popping up in the forum. Sounds great, looks great, no-one seems to have them in stock. Have spent ages on line and can't find the sizes needed for the 1200GS. Closest I can find online is the K76 but that's more road biased.
Anyone know where I can find a set (I am in Co Antrim though of course the postman can help with that)?
Failing that is there another tyre I should look at which is a good equivalent?

I want everything of course:
- Solid handling on the road, wet / dry / greasy: B-roads and motorway
- Decent off road capability (want to start getting the bike dirty)
- Lasts forever
